Few rappers can say that they broke a Guinness World Record, but Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege is on the elite list. The New Jersey-born MC, who is one-half of rap duo Chiddy Bang, earned his place in history last year by rapping for 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds. He dethroned the previous “longest freestyle” winner by a little less than three minutes—but a win is still a win.
As they prepare to go on tour with Wiz Khalifa, and Mac Miller, we caught up with Chiddy, and his partner Xaphoon Jones, who challenged other rappers to beat his time.
